I went to Pinelands plaza for lunch the other day. D’s Sizzling House is closed for good.I used to have dinner there from time to time when they were in Little Taipei more than 20 years ago. I still remember that there are sizzling steaks, toasts, and drinks for about $10, which are affordable. However, not anymore. In the past two years, Sunny Seoul and Haoke are closed. Garden city has changed its name and is no longer Garden city anymore. During this time, friends will gradually become strangers.I feel like getting old. That sounds like my era is near to be ended.
Earlier, a friend took us to Newnham Hotel for dinner. When we were young in Hong Kong, we must all think of a five-star hotel when we heard about “Hotel”.
But in Australia, the Hotel is just a bar. Generally, there are some poker machines and a very ordinary restaurant.
This Newnham road is like this. As soon as you enter, you can see that the decoration is very ordinary and looks relatively old. But we were looking for a place to chat with friends and sit for two or three hours. And there are not many people here. So there is no need to wait and make reservations. And there are ample parking spaces. Also, the location is excellent. It is also one or two streets away from Garden City and only one or two minutes drive away from the entrance and exit of the expressway. So even if you have friends living in the North District, it is very convenient.
Also, their other selling point is that you can get a free kid’s meal ($6) with just one main course. So if you are a family of four with two children, it’s almost half price.
On that day, I ordered chicken parmigiana. because that is the most classic, so it is very safe. In the end, there is no surprise in the taste, but it must not be wrong, I am satisfied. At the same time, it also a free Fish & Chips for children. This is about 20 dollars, so I am very happy.
In the end, there were more than ten people in our group, and five or six children were sitting there for two or three hours. No one disturbed us; we sat well and had enough to eat. All our requirements are met. Of course we are very happy

If you have been to Warrigal Square, you will feel the very fragrant coffee smell, in fact, coffee bun. Because these are attracted by these fragrances, I want to buy them almost every time I pass by.
A coffee bun costs $3.80, which is not too expensive, and it has a strong coffee flavor and is hot. If you add an extra coffee for $7 (If I remember correctly) I think it’s worth a try.

Rice Paper Vietnamese Cuisine in Warrigal Square has been in business for more than ten years. I used to go there for lunch from time to time before I had children, but because their seats are a little bit narrow, that is good for the baby pram. The kid is getting a little older, the epidemic seems to be getting better again, and everyone has accepted the epidemic. Recently, I went out to eat more, so I recently had the opportunity to go to Rice Paper Vietnamese Cuisine for lunch.
It was around 1:00 p.m. on weekdays, and it was busy. Most of the tables were almost full, but fortunately, there was no need to wait for a table. Of course, if you go there, you must eat Vietnamese noodles, Pho.
The wife ordered Beef Tripe Pho. The wife said that the taste is good, and the Beef Tripe is very fresh. The soup is more flavorful, and the rice noodle is very smooth.
And I just ordered the chicken shredded soup noodle, which is very high quality. The soup base is flavorful and fragrant, the Pho is smooth, and the taste is similar to the previous one, still at a level.
In addition, Vietnamese iced coffee is still very famous, so you must try it. This is the drip coffee, I ordered frozen black coffee, and this kind of coffee can be drunk with strength. The taste feels very special and very strong, which is most suitable for people like me who often need coffee reminders.
Although Rice Paper Vietnamese Cuisine is still in charge of “Uncle Han”, it is still worthy of being one of Brisbane’s restaurants with history.it won’t let you disappointed.

It’s the school holiday now. For Brisbane, it’s essential to take time off to go out with the children, otherwise, the children will be very bored. I took a day off today. I took the children to Southbank by bus, and there are many high-rise buildings in Southbank and Westend, which is entirely different from the style of Sunnybank, which is still a suburb, so it feels like going to oversea. Moreover, there are museums, art galleries, state libraries, and playgrounds. These facilities can definitely “discharge” the children’s energy.

I went to the Compton Road’s mall for lunch last week by accident because I was planning to go to another full Japanese restaurant, and there was no parking space. Fortunately, I found several popular places in the mall, and the most popular is En Sushi. It was only around 12 o’clock when we arrived, but it took 15 minutes to wait for a table. On Google, their reviews are pretty positive, and some people say that this store, originally in Kuraby, and the old site has some reputation.
As soon as I entered the store, I saw that most people ordered a bento box, so I also ordered a fried chicken chop (chicken katsu) bento box, which cost about $20. In this era of high inflation, for $20, there is a bento meal with rice, chicken chop, two fried prawns, miso soup, and three small plates of side dishes, which is really good value. So I believe everyone is because of this bento box. As for the taste, they are all good, the chicken chop is quite juicy, and the fried chicken is fragrant.
In addition, I also ordered a Sunset roll, and the salmon was almost smooth. And there is a lot of salmon in them, so they are all enough!

Of course, we went with the kid. Thus, I need to order fully cooked food for her. This time, I ordered Unagi rice. Of course, that is hard to go wrong with this style of rice. In general, so the taste is not bad.
This Japanese restaurant is good, and I will consider going next time.

Sizzling Steak should be a special kind of Hong Kong-style food. When I was young, in Hong Kong, I liked CafĂ© and Maxim’s Sizzling Steak. In the past, the set menu at Brisbane Hong Kong Style Restaurant was only about $10, while the Sizzling Steak was $15, 50% more. But, now is the era of high inflation, the set meal is already about $14 for me, and the iron plate steak says about $17 for me, just pay a few dollars more and eat the original Steak! So, I went to Ho Lin Wah Restaurant a few days ago to eat this kind of Steak. The texture of the Steak is tender and juicy. That is not small too.Especially in winter, it is very warm to eat when that is served on the hot iron plate.

I had betty’s burgers years ago.
It was the shop that opened in Surfers Paradise back then, and in my memory, it had the reputation of being the most delicious hamburger of that year on Gold Coast. So in my impression, their burgers are delicious.
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to have dinner at the surface paradise branch again.
I ordered their CRISPY CHICKEN SUPREME and fries ($5) on the same day for about $20, so it’s a mid-priced burger. The chicken was crispy, the meat quality was good, and the bread was soft. As for the fries, they were normally crispy. Fries are hard to go wrong.
There is a special offer on the day, if you order a hamburger and a side dish, you can have a free children’s meal. And the portion is also the same as the adult meal, and there are still fries.
Also, they have a Mobile App, and there are some discounts from time to time. You can order the food and just select the pick-up Location in the mobile app as the branch where you are in. Then you need to inform the staff to order food in the mobile app. In the end, the staff k will bring it to the table where you sit.
Since it is Easter, there is festive food, Hot Cross Bun Easter Sundaes, only $2, not bad.
In conclusion, it tastes good. Although it doesn’t seem to be as good as in my memory, maybe memories will always be beautified. In addition, the staff has a very good attitude and is very active in helping customers.
