Twin Falls - Springbrook

Twin Falls is one of major water falls in Springnbrook. The key feature of this water fall contains two water falls. Moreover, there is a walking track too! This track is suitable for most people. Last times, we have spent around an hour and half for walking to the bottom of the fall and back to the starting point.

At the end of this track, you can experience the water fall!

Besides, you can walk over a creek on this walking track.  That is nice!

Getting there:

We can park your car near Tallanbana  picnic area which is located at the Springbrook Road. That is the entrance of track.

Boradbeach- Hotels

Besides of Surfer Paradise, I suggest you should visit Broadbeach too. There is a beach too. I went to there before, there is not bad, but Gold Coast area has a lot of beaches. It won’t make it special.  The special things are the buildings.  There are some landmark buildings in there, such as Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, Pacific Fair and Jupiter Casino.

Moreover, during these recently years, many luxury hotels and apartments built in there too!  Their appearance are quite fancy. There is worth to have a look. The photo above is the one of examples.

Besides of buildings, there is a mono-rail system too!  It links between Jupiter Casino and Oasis Shopping Center. You can have a ride on it and enjoy the view of Broadbeach area during the trip.

Monorail - Broadbeach

I think there is worth to spend at least  two hours, or having an afternoon tea in there. There are some good coffee shops in there too!

Sunset @Varsity Lakes

I found there is a pretty residential area,Varsity Lakes, in Gold Coast. There is a footpath along the lake. That is very beautiful.  I took some photo during sunset, that looks a “art”(I think so)!

Hinze Dam

I found a new tourist attraction in Gold Coast. That is Hinze Dam. According to the information from Wikipedia , the site opened on 19th December, 2011. Therefore, that is only a few days before our visit on 26th December.  We could enjoy the brand new facilities.

Those are not just new. They are quite complete. There is a big visitor center. The visitor center exhibition hall which tell you about the history of Hinze Dam, function rooms and public toilets.  The center has a lot of indoor public space too! You can have a picnic in there.

Moreover, there is a large parklane.  You can have a walk, that is very comfortable. In addition, there are two outlook points in the park. You can enjoy the great view of the Dam.

Hinze Dam - Park

Besides of the “quiet” features, there are some more active! There are a bike track on the top of Dam.

That is a great place to spend an afternoon with your family.

The way to go there : Driving on Nerang Murwillumbah Road , and turning to  Advancetown road. The vistor center is at the end of Advancetown road.

Best of All Lookout

Springbrook is famous of water falls. There are many good spots to visit as well, such as Best of All Lookout . That is near Gondwana Rainforests.  It has the view of South Gold Coast, even as far as Northern NSW.  This is a great view. Unfortunately, when we went to there, there was a heavy rain. We could not see much. But there are a lot of clouds, that like walking in the sky!

This lookout is not far from the water falls, that is only about 5 minutes driving. If you go to see the waterfalls, you can go to there as well!

Boxing Day Sales

Queen Street Mall - Boxing day

Today is Boxing Day. The most of shops started their end of sales on today. So in “Australian  Custom”, today is a shopping day. I went to City for shopping as well. I found Queen Street Mall is full of people. There is a kind of “Human Traffic Jam”. I cannot walk faster, because the foot path is too many people. I entered Myer and David Jones, a lot of people are so busy with shopping.

Long queue

Even the shops have a long queue to line up for entering their shop! That is crazy!

But there are a huge saving, I saw some goods have 50% off, such as the Sheridan quilt cover in David Jones.  Others are at least 20% off!

The things draw my attention a lot is Ultrabook. Dick Smith and Harvey Norman set all Ultrabook on specials.Ultrabook are on sales

That is great, but they are too expensive!

Finally, I did not buy anything for myself.

Well, the end of sales has not finished yet,  the sales will run to the start of next year! Maybe, I can find something later. Let us go shopping again later!

Surfers Paradise

Surfers Paradise Beach

Gold Coast is a famous tourist attraction in Queensland. There is 57 KM  long coastline and a lot of beaches along there.  I believe the most famous one is Surfers Paradise. That is a beautiful beach. The water is very clear.  But there is some strong water waves, that is good to surf, not very good to swim. You can enjoy a good time to surf in there. That is “Surfers’ Paradise”.

Although you cannot surf, there is a super “long” beach. I believe that is unique in this world! That is a “must-see” point.

The Entrance to Surfers Paradise beach.

When you travel there, you must take a photo at the entrance of Surfers Paradise Beach and under the name of “Surfers Paradise”.  I brought a lot of friends to take a photo in there.

Surfers Paradise Esplanade

Besides of the beach, there is an Esplanade. I like to walk in there. I can enjoy the ocean wind, beautiful beach and a blue sky.

There is an hour driving distance from Brisbane, that is not too far from Brisbane. Thus, I go to there at least three times per year!

Point Danger @ Evening

(Continue: Point Danger)

Last week, I visited Point Danger ,where is about an hour driving distance from Brisbane, again. Last times, I visited there was at noon. This times is in the evening time. The scene is completely different! That is very romantic!  Sunset and a beautiful ocean view.  A pink sky and a blue ocean. The mixture is prefect. I got another spot to view the ocean rather than Byron Bay.

Brisbane China Town

China Town

Brisbane has not many Chinese, by comparing Sydney. Thus, we have a smaller China Town.  We have an official China Town in Duncan Street, Fortitude Valley. That is only a narrow and short street. You can  see it more clearly in Google Map.

Duncan Street

There are a few Chinese restaurants and  a Chinese supermarket. There are not many things worth to visit.

Metallic China Town Moreover,  you cannot feel a lot of Chinese atmosphere in there, because the Brisbane City Council re-built China Town around 2010. Now, there is more metallic.

I suggest you go to our Chinese Suburb, Sunnybank. There are more “Chinese”. There are more choices on restaurants  too.

Anyway, if you are in City, China Town is still worth to visit. There is very close to City.

Inland beach@Southbank

Inland beach@Southbank

I don’t think Brisbane River is a good place to swim. You still can swim “near” Brisbane Swim. We have an artificial inland beach in Southbank. You can swim next to Brisbane River. Moreover, that is not a swimming pool. That is a beach with real sand!  This is very cool!
